Hi ASPers,
I have a hunch that most of the folks in the Business Meeting are not aware
of the fact that it is quite possible to make themselves available for more
than one position. No, we wouldn't elect to more than one!
How it works is that we will elect the List Administrator first from whoever
makes themselves available to serve as List Administrator.
Example: Let's say both Susie Q. and Lois W. make themselves available for
all 3 positions. But, Anne B. only makes herself available for Greeter
Chair, and Bob only makes himself available for Secretary.
We elect the List Administrator first from the field of Lois & Susie. Lois
W. gets elected List Administrator.
Then we elect the Secretary from the field of Bob and Susie. So, let's say
Bob gets elected.
Then we elect the Greeter Chair from the field of Susie and Anne and Susie
gets elected.
In other words, if you make yourself available for more than one position,
and you are not elected for the first position, you will automatically carry
over into the next position. And so on.
Don't be afraid of how much work it is to serve ASP. I did everything but
Greeter Chair for the first 10 years and it didn't kill me. In fact, we took
vacations and went on trips all along. The ASP Steering Committee is a
pretty fine team and most of the time works really well as a team.
Hugs,
Steve
