To me, simpler is always better and if it ain't broke, don't fix it.  (Al-Anoners love to fix.)

I agree that early meetings can be overwhelming and inundating with information which

can frighten frightened people away.

I would vote to not add anything to Greeters duties.  (I am assuming if a Greeter wishes to forward a meeting to

a newcomer, they are free to do so - or not).
