Hi Adele,

I'm curious why you think the process has gotten so complicated. The process
for electing new Steering Committee members hasn't changed in nearly 8
years. The last change to the process was made on April 13, 2010. 

The members of the Steering Committee hold vast power over ASP, plus they
meet in virtual secrecy***. It seems to me that the regular members of ASP
have every right to ask candidates for the Steering Committee questions
about how they will exercise that power, and will they honor the group
conscience of the regular members, or will they get political, or ???

***  Frankly, I'd support a discussion in the Business Meeting hopefully
leading to a group conscience by the members of ASP that the trusted
servants on the SC regularly report to the members regarding any and all
actions taken by the Steering Committee, as well as the issues discussed by
the Steering Committee.

months.
