If there is an agreement of sorts to put together a mock or draft proposal for freshened, simpler newcomer materials, newcomers'/first step page, newcomer guidance, etc., as discussed I'd suggest a Business Committee Topic something along these lines: 

That a temporary committee be formed, answerable to the Business Committee, to reassess ASP's newcomer-related materials and how ASP could better serve newcomer needs. 

This wouldn't preclude this committee from offering up additional suggestions as they come up which may add benefits to the general membership as well as to newcomers - the creative process has a mind of its own :-). 


"Jerry and/or Apryl can you formulate something for newcomers packets?" 

At this point I can see where an open discussion is necessary. Elements of a discussion should include full information on ASP's past history with beginner packets, the failure of the program, a requirement that the membership accepts the responsibility of the additional costs of continuing the program [see old treasury records], the likely resulting lowering of donations to WSO, the creation of a new sub-committee chair [under the Greeter Chair?], and related topics. I'd suggest a Business Committee topic as follows: 

Does ASP want to fund and restart the Beginners Packet program or should we move to cancel the motion which created it?
