Hi group. Been unavailable this week r/t overtime at work.

Thanks Mary for volunteering. Not sure how this works, but does someone
have to make a motion and second it?

About those questions.

I am a double winner, so can not volunteer for officers, though I have
tried. It is a bit of a bummer for me, as I know how much serve helps us
grow. I encounter the same problems in f2f meetings. (Going thru service
hierarchy in AA has been soooooooo extremely beneficial to me).

As a result, I feel less connected, and at times a tad resentful toward Al
Anon. While I realize that mostly my own problem to deal with, I at times
feel like a second class citizen. Just being honest lol.

That being said, I have served as newcomer greeter, and chaired a few times
in the 8 or 9 years Ive been an ASP member. I always get something out of
it, though being a newcomer greeter serious cuts down on time I can
participate in regular meetings because there are so many newcomers to
answer!

I have decided to make more of an effort to reach out to newcomers on reg
meeting as my service these days.

This meeting format can me tricky, but is my lifeline to Al Anon. I would
like to have a consistent f2f meeting (that format is so beneficial to my
recovery) but it is not possible. I love ASP and the recovery its given me
in spite of the format.
