I agree that we need to let the membership know about our need for volunteers. At F2F meetings it is brought up to all members at a regular meeting. The regular meeting also has a report of the contents of the business meeting at which the need (if any) of volunteers is addressed again. I don’t want Jerry to have additional work but perhaps someone else could follow up with the entire membership about the need for volunteers when making this report. I also think that it is important to give the membership an idea of the parameters of what they are volunteering for. I don’t think that it is unreasonable to mention the total membership numbers and how we need several people who are qualified to step up and fill these positions. I also don’t think that it is unreasonable to have a couple of sentences at the beginning of the daily meeting to let members know about the need. It could be something quite simple like.
“Please note that ASP is still in need of a new member greeter, treasurer, and secretary. It you have been attending ASP meetings for a year or more and would like to advance your recovery through ASP service, please contact ....”.
In the meantime, thanks to all of those who are serving.
If we move to quarterly meetings, I think we still need a way to fill vacancies during the interim.
