Hi All..
Update on our account from January to April 2022.
-Income: $1066.55 - member donations, PO box reimbursement and interest
from our account
-Expenses: $934.25 -Esosoft monthly fee, paypal fees, incorporation fee
Bank Balance (First Federal and Sound Banks): $2257.56
Ledger Balance: $2454.08
Please note that the ledger and the bank accounts should match and of course
they don't!
I have spent several months (translate that into a few days) trying to
reconcile our ledger with our bank accounts. A challenge given the fact
that between 2014 and 2018, there were gaps in treasurer coverage and
expectations may not have been set as clearly as they could have been. As a
result, the 2019 ledger posted to the website, has a starting balance that
does not match what I have in the ledger that I inherited, and I can't
reconcile earlier than 2019.
I did choose to use what I inherited, not what was on the website. I did
though take the website figures into consideration as I came to the
conclusion that I would not be able to reconcile. I am recommending that
regardless of which is correct, we just write off the difference so that
beginning May 1, the ledger and our bank accounts are in synch. Once the
adjustment is made, our balance over prudent reserve will be: $956.55
More detail on the discrepant figures..
***Using the entries in the ledger that I inherited, the balance as of
4/30/2022 is $196.52 higher than what our bank accounts reflect.
***Using the 2018 ending balance found documented at the top of the 2019
ledger posted to the website
<http://asp-afg.org/members/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2020/01/ASP-7th-Tradi
tion-Register-2019-Calendar-Year.pdf> , the balance as of 4/30/2022 is
$80.02 higher than what our bank accounts reflect.
There are a lot of numbers, and maybe too much or not enough detail here for
you all to make sense of it. So let me know if you have any questions or
concerns and if anyone sees an error anywhere, let me know!
Thanks!
Yours in service,
Anne O.
