Hi all,

I have one question for the SC regarding the current motion.

"That the Steering Committee (SC) is authorized to solicit volunteers
for service on the SC,"

Is the intent of this to put out a general call to the recovery meeting
stating that members who don't meet the current requirements may apply and
be screened by the SC case by case? Jerry's recent emai brought to my
attention that this could also be interpreted as the SC reaching out to
individuals they favor and asking them to apply. This could result in the
SC cherry-picking members.

I don't believe this is the intent of our current SC, nor that our SC plans
to "pack" the SC. I do think that for clarity,  this part of the motion
could be reworded.

"That the SC is authorized to inform the general meeting of the opportunity
to apply for service on the SC without having one year's prior service."

My insomnia means I'm not thinking at my best right now, so perhaps I'm
nit-picking a small detail. If I'm mistaken,  and the majority feel the
current wording is acceptable,  I'm willing to accept that.

I support the remaining points of the current motion.
