[Businessmtg] ASP Business Meeting - GR Report

Hi Business Friends,
Thank you, Steve for sharing your ESH....as usual, you provoke my thinking
and thoughts.  While I feely admit to 'ignorance" (lack of knowledge,
uninformed, unaware), it is something I can do something about, and that is
listen and learn, research and decide.  After all these years in these
rooms, I still simple do not know enough.

Following are some questions and assumptions that occurred to me from
Steve's input.
1/ Groups without GR's have the option to elect GR's, including zoom
meetings, O am assuming.
I can only assume they either choose not to, or they have no trusted
servants to offer.  I do know that even in our face-to-face meetings in my
local district, it is becoming harder and harder to get the commitment and
we have discussed lessening the time from 3 years.

2/  If we look at the ratio of ASP membership to the number of trusted
servants (currently wearing more than one hat), it is a sad situation, in
my humble opinion.
Along the same vein, the ratio of members to the number who actually attend
ASP business meetings is also not the best representation.

In my many years in Al-Anon, I still hear that people skip the 'boring'
business meetings, don't want to hear the "boring" GR report, I just want
the program, etc.  I do not have the answer for this -

3/  I disagree with Steve's generality in his statement that GRs of zoom
"have no understanding of how an email meeting works".  I think that is an
assumption as I personally know our GR attends face-to-face, zoom, and
telephone.
